Shannon Simpson

Shannon Simpson joined Excel in 2022 and currently serves as a Middle School English Teacher at Excel Academy. Prior to Excel, Shannon was the Early College Coordinator at Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology. Shannon is committed to cultivating an environment that is validating and affirming of every youth and family in the communities she has the privilege to serve. Shannon specializes in youth development, curriculum design, enjoys working at the intersection of building agency in communities and advocating for social justice. She believes, “No decisions about youth should be made without youth.” She plans to encourage youth by spreading positive ripple effects. Shannon holds a Bachelors Degree in Educational Studies from Brandeis University.
