Alexandra Flatley

Alexandra Flatley, or Alex, joined the Excel Academy team at the Chelsea Campus as Leader in Residence, coaching ELA, History, and Learning Specialist teachers. Prior to joining the Excel Team, Alex was the Dean of Instruction & Curriculum at a middle school in Lawrence, MA. Before that, Alex taught grades 4, 5, 6, 7 at Edward Brooke Charter School – Mattapan, in addition to being a mentor teacher to associate teachers. Born and raised in Boston, attending Boston Public Schools, Alex is passionate about equity within education institutions. Alex started her teaching career in Detroit, MI in 2012, and quickly fell in love with spending her days in schools with students and families. Additionally, while Alex was working on her masters degree at Harvard in 2020, she fell in love with a new puppy and doing lots of walking/ running outdoors. She is thrilled to be on the Excel team and eager to explore the beautiful neighborhoods of Chelsea & East Boston.
