Darlande Joseney

Darlande joined Excel Academy Charter High School in 2023 as an Associate Dean of Students, and currently serves as the Dean of Culture at Excel Academy East Boston. Prior to Excel, Darlande started her career in education teaching ELA & Social Studies for Brooke Charter Schools 8th Grade Academy. Darlande earned her Bachelor’s Degree at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth majoring in Crime and Justice Studies with a minor in Black Studies. Darlande uses creativity and faith as a compass so you can often find her coaching dance, writing poetry, or perfecting her longtime skill of online shopping. With one nephew and six nieces, Darlande has always wanted to take ownership over helping create a world we want all children to thrive in and feels grateful to be playing her part in a place like Excel.
