  • Excel Academy is a member of the East Boston Family Engagement Network through which local nonprofits collaborate to empower families and strengthen communities. 
  • Excel Academy students have raised thousands of dollars for local and global causes like funding for hurricane relief, epilepsy awareness, ProjectBread, American Heart Association, and local shelters. 
  • Last spring, Excel Academy Orient Heights students were recognized as Class Acts by channel 7 News for their 5K fundraiser to benefit homeless families. The school raised over $1,800.
  • In the fall of 2017, Excel Academy, in partnership with the East Boston Public Library and the East Boston YMCA, hosted the first annual Bremen Street Fall Festival – a free, family-friendly community event.

  • We are committed to being a partner and a resource to our neighbors in the ways that are most needed.
  • Excel Academy invests in family resources outside the classroom to empower students with better access to learning inside the classroom. Over the course of the year, Excel hosts the following events and workshops:
    • Benefits Access events, supporting families with health insurance and SNAP enrollment.
    • Know Your Rights community forums, providing immigration information and legal resources.
    • Mobile Vision Clinics offering students free glasses and eye exams.
       
    • Tax Preparation Workshops with tax filing and financial literacy resources.
