About Us

Excel Academy Charter School (Excel MA) is a Massachusetts Commonwealth charter public school, authorized by the MA Board of Elementary and Secondary Education to serve 1,400 students in grades 5-12 across four campuses in East Boston and Chelsea. The Excel MA Board of Trustees is responsible for ensuring that the school fulfills its mission, achieves academic success for its students, and manages funds appropriately.

Excel Academy Rhode Island (Excel RI) is a RI Mayoral Academy charter public school, authorized by the RI Council on Elementary and Secondary Education to serve 2,186 students in grades K-12 from Providence, Central Falls, and North Providence. The Excel RI Board of Trustees is responsible for ensuring that the school fulfills its mission, achieves academic success for its students, and manages funds appropriately.

Friends of Excel Academy Charter Schools (Friends) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides a range of educational and support services to Excel Academy Charter School in MA and Excel Academy Rhode Island in RI (collectively: Excel Academy Charter Schools). The relationships between the organizations are governed by management service agreements.
