School Uniform Guidelines

The following guidelines outline uniform requirements for Excel Academy Rhode Island students in Grades 5-8. Uniform information for Excel Academy Rhode Island students in Grade 9 will be available in Spring 2026.

Grades 5–7

Regular Uniform Top Options

Students must adhere to the following guidelines on days that they do not have fitness:

  • Solid gray
  • Short or long sleeve
  • Polo or T-shirt
  • Excel logo not required
  • No other logos (Nike, Adidas, etc.)

  • Can be purchased from Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc. or vendor website

Grade 8 Only

Regular Uniform Top Options

Students in Grade 8 must adhere to the following guidelines on days that they do not have fitness:

  • Solid navy blue (only 8th grade students will be wearing navy blue shirts)

  • Short or long sleeve

  • Polo

  • Excel logo not required
  • No other logos (Nikes, Adidas, etc.)

  • Can be purchased from Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc. or vendor website

Grades 5–8

Regular Uniform Bottoms

Students must adhere to the following guidelines on days that they do not have fitness:

  • Pants, shorts, or skirts

  • Solid khaki, tan, or navy bottoms

  • No leggings, joggers, or jeans/jeans material

  • Can be purchased from Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc. or vendor website.

Grades 5–8

Uniform Sweater options

Students may choose from the following:

  • Crew neck, cardigan, or zip fleece
  • Excel logo not required

  • No hoodies or sweaters with hoods (students will be asked to remove and place them in lockers)

  • No other logos (Nike, Adidas, etc.)

  • Can be purchased from Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc. or vendor website.

Students may choose from the following on days that they have fitness class:

Students may choose from the following on days that they have fitness class:

  • Pants or shorts

  • Leggings are OK!

  • Solid black

  • No compression shorts or biker shorts

  • No other logos (Nike, Adidas, etc.)

  • Can be purchased from Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc. or vendor website.

Uniform Shirt Options

  • Black, white, or gray long sleeve shirts can be worn underneath the uniform

  • Hoodies may not be worn underneath uniforms

Grades 5–8

Shoe Policy

  • Closed toed shoes with laces or velcro

  • Any color

  • No slip-on shoes

  • No crocs
