Laurel Black
Dean of Student SupportsLaurel joined Excel’s staff in 2015 and currently serves as the Dean of Student Supports at Excel Academy Greenway. Laurel also held the role of math and science learning specialist at Greenway. Prior to Excel, Laurel was a science and special education teacher at Del Valle High School in Austin, Texas where she was awarded “Teacher of the Year.” Laurel holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Vanderbilt University, and a master’s in mind, brain, and education from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
