Transportation offerings depend on the age and residence of the students. We provide transportation, through Boston Public Schools, to qualifying students residing in Boston in Grades 5 and 6. For the qualification criteria see below. Students residing in Boston in Grades 7 & 8 receive an MBTA pass. All students residing in Chelsea receive transportation to and from school. Students residing outside of Boston and Chelsea do not qualify for transportation.
Boston Residents*
- Grade 5: Students must live 1+ mile from school
- Grade 6: Students must live 1.5+ miles from school
- Grades 7-12: All students living in the city of Boston receive a free MBTA student pass during the first week of school.
*In order to qualify for transportation from Boston Public Schools (BPS), all newly enrolled families that live in Boston must fill out the BPS withdrawal form. Download this withdrawal form and turn it into your Excel Academy school as soon as possible or contact the Excel Academy enrollment team at enrollment@excelacademy.org.
Chelsea Residents
- All students residing in Chelsea receive transportation to and from school.
All Other Students
- Students residing outside of Boston and Chelsea do not qualify for transportation.
