Ben Ure

Ben joined Excel’s staff in fall 2011 as an interim Learning Specialist and then served as an interim Associate Dean of Students. For four years, he was the Dean of Students at Excel Academy East Boston. He is the founding Dean of Students at Excel Academy Charter High School. Prior to Excel, Ben taught high school in Philadelphia for two years through Teach for America. Ben holds a bachelor’s in Political Science from Brigham Young University and a Teaching Certification from the University of Pennsylvania. Ben has participated in the Building Excellent Schools LENS Program, a year-long intensive training program that prepares rising leaders from BES Network schools to think, see, decide, manage, and execute as effective leaders in high-performing charter schools.
