Curriculum

Excel Academy provides a challenging, standards-based curriculum guided by the Massachusetts frameworks, national standards, and standards developed by other successful charter and district public schools. The curriculum is designed to ensure students gain full mastery of fundamental skills while developing the higher order thinking skills necessary for success in high school and college. For example, all Excel Academy students take Algebra and read high school-level novels during their eighth grade year, thereby positioning them for success in a college preparatory high school program.

The academic curriculum is supported by a strong character education program.  This program helps students to develop and internalize the key personal and professional values necessary for long-term success.  Students receive weekly education in a number of different character virtues and are encouraged to apply them to all aspects of their lives.
