Excel Academy-East Boston is a regional, public charter school that admits students from East Boston, Chelsea and surrounding communities through an open lottery. The 200+ fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grade students who comprise our student population are:

• 72 percent Latino and represent over 23 different nationalities.
• 72 percent low-income, as defined by federal guidelines.
• Residents of East Boston (56 percent) and Chelsea (27 percent) as well as Revere, Winthrop, Lynn, Malden, Everett and Hyde Park.
• 48 percent male and 52 percent female.
