Excel's application process is simple and we encourage all eligible families to apply.
As a network of public, charter schools, Excel Academy Charter Schools is free of charge to all families. All students are chosen through an open lottery and families must complete a basic application to enter the lottery. Any family who meets the following criteria is eligible to apply:
- The student is a resident of Massachusetts. Note: Preference will be given to siblings of current students and to students from Chelsea and Boston (Excel-East Boston only)
- Prior to August of the new school year, the student will have successfully completed 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th grade (Excel-East Boston) or the 4th and 5th grade (Excel-Chelsea).
Excel does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, national origin, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, mental or physical disability, special needs, English language proficiency, athletic ability, or academic achievement.
