Dai Ellis: Dai is Excel's Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for management of the network, holding non-instructional responsibilities including board relations and governance, educational accountability, personnel issues, budgeting and finance, legal and regulatory compliance, facilities issues and external relations. In addition, as the network of schools grow, Dai will be responsible for overseeing these additional institutions and managing the network team. Prior to joining Excel, Dai served as the Executive Vice President of Access Programs at the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), where he led the Foundation's work on improving the marketplace for HIV/AIDS and malaria drugs, diagnostics and other essential commodities. He also co-founded Orphans of Rwanda, a nonprofit organization that provides university scholarships to orphans and other vulnerable youth. Dai holds a Bachelor's degree from Harvard University and a J.D. degree from Yale Law School.
Rebecca Cass: Rebecca is Excel's Director of Expansion and was responsible for writing the charter applications that were submitted to the Department of Education in November 2010. Prior to serving in this role, Rebecca acted as Excel's Interim Executive Director and as a member of Excel's Board of Trustees. She has extensive experience in charter school policy and management, having served as the Director of Policy and National Activities for the National Association of Charter School Authorizers. She has also worked in the Charter School Office of the Massachusetts Department of Education. Rebecca holds a Bachelor's degree from Syracuse University and a Master's in Public Administration from Suffolk University.
Katie Dankleff: Katie joined Excel in 2005 and is Excel's Director of Network Operations and is responsible for not only many of the network's operations and the delivery of student support services, but also for any and all tasks that relate to Excel-East Boston's relocation to and renovation of 58 Moore Street in East Boston. Prior to Excel, Katie was a corps member for Teach for America, through which she taught English at a high school in Philadelphia, PA. Katie holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Sunita Arora: Sunita is Excel's Managing Director of People Strategy & Organizational Learning and is responsible for designing and implementing the staff ‘s retainment and evaluation processes. Prior to joining the Excel team, Sunita served as Chief of Staff to Mike Feinberg and worked closely with KIPP Houston's regional leadership team. She began her career in education as a Teach for America corps member and KIPP teacher in Houston, TX. She is a graduate of Rhodes College and received an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Jennifer Boyle: Jennifer is Excel's Managing Director of Strategic Growth & Development and is responsible for executing, with the assistance of Excel's Director of External Relations, the network's growth fund efforts. Prior to joining the Excel team, Jennifer was the Executive Director of the Maranyundo Initiative, an educational non-profit that works in Rwanda. She helped launch the Maranyundo School in Nyamata, Rwanda, a girl's boarding school that currently ranks as the #1 girls school in Rwanda. Jennifer graduated from the University of New Hampshire and holds a Master's in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School.
Rebecca Korb: Rebecca is Excel's Director of External Relations and is responsible for working in tandem with the Managing Director of Strategic Growth & Development to execute the network's growth fund and public relations efforts. Prior to joining Excel in spring 2010, Rebecca worked as a Campaign Manager at the Massachusetts Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. She is a graduate of Colby College with a double major in Spanish & Latin American Studies.
Gabriela Baker: Gabriela is Excel's Student Recruitment Manager. During college, Gabriela did a number of research projects focused on community engagement, including research on local food access and climate change adaptation strategies. She is a graduate of Oberlin College.
